Abstract

This study examines how promotion and service awards affect employees’ performance of
Zenith Bank in Wukari. A Correlational survey design was adopted from a population of fortythree (43) staff working in Zenith Bank Wukari. Univariate statistics and Multiple Linear
Regression were used to analyse data and test the hypothesis formulated using SPSS version
25. Findings from the results revealed that promotion and service awards have significant
impacts on employee’s performance. Thus, the study concludes that the importance of
promotion and service awards on employees’ performance cannot be overemphasized as
recognizing employees in an organization causes a fundamental outcome on the productivity
of employees. Therefore, the management of Zenith Bank Wukari should ensure that workers
who are due for promotion are promoted as at when due lead to high morale of workers in
Zenith Bank Wukari. Also, employees’ who have performed excellently well and has
contributed immensely to growth of the bank should be rewarded
